Stuff……

I have tried, and tried again….to no avail.   Time to get real.

I’m in the middle of a divorce, and can’t seem to keep up with blogs right now. Once the divorce is over, I’ll be in the middle of moving. In other words, life is a little busy at the moment, and I am going to give in, and for the most part, stop blogging except very occasionally. I hope to get back to it more regularly at some point, but I have no idea when that will be.

No more news summaries until further notice.

Also, I am considering ditching Entrecard. All the stuff going on there is making me re-think an association with them. Haven’t yet decided, and I’d love some opinions!

Re Entrecard’s new paid ad program

I will not be posting a news summary on Friday, as I am working on taxes thanks to my eternally bad habit of procrastination. ugh.

 IPD is currently NOT accepting paid ads on this site, so EC members will still receive 100% of impressions. I am, however, advertising via paid ads on the EC network as an experiment.
If you are an EC member and you are NOT accepting paid ads, be sure to leave a comment on this post so your blog can be entered on the list I am using to keep track of those who are not participating.

I haven’t been posting or dropping, and I apologize profusely! :)

My very fav laptop broke down, and went to the repair shop, but I did finally manage to get my old laptop running well enough to do some things, so I am now back to posting, dropping and responding to comments. Just an FYI in case you wondered….

Site News: Discontinuing Daily News Summary

Due to time constraints in my personal life, I have to discontinue the daily news. I could continue doing it, but because I can't commit to getting the news up daily, I decided that it's better simply to discontinue it. I hate doing this, because I truly enjoy searching for and posting the poli news, but I have no real choice as I don't want to do it on a haphazard basis.

I plan to continue blogging here, albeit not necessarily on a daily basis, so please keep reading, and visiting and commenting --- I appreciate all of you!

In 2009: Signs of Things to Come

On December 31, I woke up, grabbed my first cup of coffee, and began my daily reading.

When I landed on Huffpo, the top two headlines were,

"Burris builds monument to himself in Chicago cemetary" [politico link],

                                           and

"Gonzales writing a book: "I consider myself a casualty, one of the many casualties of the war on terror." [wsj link].

Is this a sign of things to come in 2009?     Hilarious, and only in the political world.

Have an extremely healthy, happy, and productive 2009!

First IPD Best Political Graphics Award Goes to The Relevant Rhino

 Announcing the first “IPD Best Political Graphics Awards”. This award entails none of the usual rules. In fact, there are no rules. It isn't about linking, it's only about graphics, and the graphics that we like the best in the political arena.

So, without further ado, the first award goes to the master of snark, Relevant Rhino. Not only do I love Rhino's writing, now I love his graphics too.

The winning graphic, as seen below, appeared in a post on The Relevant Rhino on Dec.7, and was just so very cleverly done, that I felt compelled to create an award to honor it. So, congrats, Rhino, and thanks for always bringing your entertaining, and informed brand of snark to your readers!
