►The story of the ultimate press conference, told by Salon.com, re the "The Born Conspiracy".
This would be a completely amusing read if these people weren't so very deeply pathetic. Try not to laugh....out of respect, ya know.
“Two and a half hours later, as dentist-slash-lawyer Orly Taitz harangued reporters for not investigating whether Obama's mother was actually dead, that hope had been obliterated. It was crushed by a torrent of half-baked legal theories, vague platitudes about the Constitution and sinister "facts" assembled by a collection of true believers so extreme that even Michelle Malkin wants nothing to do with them. (Let alone actual Republican operatives, who appear to realize that questioning Obama's citizenship isn't the best way to begin their journey out of the political wilderness.) Although the news conference wasn't quite over when Taitz began her harangue, it had been 15 minutes since a member of the audience compared Obama's alleged electoral fraud to how Hitler rose to power -- a sure sign it was well past time to leave.”

►Al Gore meeting with Obama and Biden in Chicago today.
Psst.......don't get your hopes up --- Politico is reporting that Gore has no interest in a position with the Obama administration.
“When Obama and Joe Biden sit down with Al Gore at noon Tuesday in Chicago, they’ll be talking issues — not making the pitch for the former vice-president to return to government service, say transition officials and those close to Gore.
Gore intends on continuing his work on the environment and energy from the outside rather than accepting a post..” POLITICO

►Bush Administration staff receive a 2-page memo, listing talking points re what to say about the Bush presidency.
A guide for discussion of the Bush presidency has been sent to Cabinet members and other Bush admin officials in an effort to help them spin the last eight years when giving public speeches.
“Titled "Speech Topper on the Bush Record," the talking points state that Bush "kept the American people safe" after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, lifted the economy after 2001 through tax cuts, curbed AIDS in Africa and maintained "the honor and the dignity of his office."
The document presents the Bush record as an unalloyed success.” LA Times

►POLITICO obsesses about Obama church-going habits, and is accused of privacy invasion by Media Matters.
Having just read the related articles,I have two words for you, convoluted [as in the story] and obsessive [as in Politico's reporting]. For the most lucid explanation of what happened, read Jason Linkins article on the Huffington Post.
“Recently, Politico's Jonathan Martin and Carol E. Lee wrote a nonsensically long article on Obama's post-election church-going habits that read like an undergraduate composition assignment and was just as boring. It didn't mention how George W. Bush rarely went to church during his time as President, either, which would have gone a long way to making MediaMatters happy, but would have made the piece even more long and boring.” Jason Linkins - HUFFPO
