Unfortunately, damn it, possibly.
Senator Ted Stevens [R-AK], now a convicted felon, will very probably win re-election to the Senate. If he does, there will almost certainly be expulsion proceedings. Palin, in order to remain a player on the national scene, can use her position as the governor to legally do one of the following:
- 1. Appoint herself to replace Stevens
2. Have her lt. governor appoint her.
3. Call a special election and run for the seat herself.
Unless the Senate decides that Stevens is the lesser of two evils, and decides not to expel him......oh God, I hope they let him stay!
