How many bras do you own? Because of the lingerie series, I did something I have never done........I inventoried my bra collection.
I always have the correct bra, because I'm just sort of anal like that, and when buying apparel, I also buy undergarments if I know that I do not currently own the appropriate foundations.
Truthfully, this is a good rule to follow, as it insures that you will never be throwing things in a panic on a night when you just have to wear a specific type of bra. In my view, the elimination of time wasters and stressors is always a good thing.
So anyway, my inventory¹ turned up the following bras:
3 pretty soft cups, for sleeping in (one of the benefits of not having an SO currently, is being free to wear a sleep bra)
10 underwire's for daily wear, all lacy and pretty (I can't stand utilitarian lingerie
)
4 lacy, unpadded demi cups (1 nude, 1 beige, 1 black, and 1 white)
2 lacy bustier's (1 white, 1 black)3 plunge|push-up bras for deep necklines (white, black, nude)
4 seamless underwire's for clingy knits (2 black, 2 nude)
4 racerback's for sleeveless summer garments (2 nude, 2 black)
2 strapless push-up's (1 white, 1 black)
4 misc. bras for........whatever :)
5 underwire's with prints and lace, for fun
Okay, I know what you're thinking......too many bras. But, I like not having to worry about whether or not I have the appropriate bra for something I decide to wear. And, I enjoy feeling feminine even in a pair of jeans. I also really like knowing that I don't have to worry that my bra straps are showing, or various other assorted hazards of not wearing the correct style of bra.
Having been in the fashion industry for years, made me very conscious as to what our underpinnings actually contribute to a look. They really can, and do, help you to look fabulous or tacky. The choice is strictly up to you!
So what is a minimal "bra wardrobe", you might wonder....see below for my version of a very minimal bra wardrobe.
