Another Award for Modern Glam

I'm sure you've seen this beautiful graphic floating around the net before today. I know that I had, and I was always a little envious of the recipients. Today, it's my turn to incite envy, as I was given the Arte y Pico award by  è¿éspi20, aka Margaret the author of è¿éspi20.com, one of my fav blogs, and one of the few that I almost always make time to read on a daily basis. Take a minute and do visit her.......she will teach you, inspire you, and cheer you up - - - not a bad deal for a few minutes of your time!

I also must admit that a large part of what I really love about this whole incident, is what Margaret wrote about this blog, and I can't even tell you how good it made me feel. She is very kind, and this is what she had to say (okay, I'm bragging........just a little, lol): 

“My second choice goes to a blog that has given me much pleasure to read and follow. Nicole at Modern Glam has brought me to the brink of fashion. I haven’t actually fallen in yet (much to my husband’s relief), but I’m getting pretty close. Nicole’s sense of fashion is impeccable. She’s doesn’t let trends get in her way of creating a solid, fashionable look that is never garish or uncomplimentary. You end up looking totally glamorous when she gets through with you.”

Okay, now I only hope I can live up to those very kind remarks. If I slip, y'all be sure to tell me now, please!

Blog Award - A First For Modern Glam

Yesterday I learned that I have received my very first blog award, an award presented for "spreading love, beauty, and joy". WOW. I am very honored, and only hope that I can live up to those standards! Bestowed upon me by the very kind, Heather, of Azure Islands Designs.

Now, I have to pass on this award to five other deserving blogs, and honestly, I have no clue where to start, because of course, I know of many deserving blogs. Will post my choices this coming weekend, after pondering this grueling decision. ;)

Site Update: Lingerie Workshop

Last week I spent an inordinate amount of time in posting the Lingerie Workshop. I had intended to continue posting my planned articles in that series until I was finished, but I am so bloody sick of bras and the like, I can't do it! I will 
post more on lingerie, however, I will be spreading it out at the rate of one post every two weeks or so.

Still to come in the Lingerie Workshop:
~Fit
~Online resources listing
~Which undergarments to wear with what
~Possibly a  question and answer session
~Other foundation garments, style and function
~What constitutes  "quality" in lingerie, and does it matter

So, for now, we are back to business as usual here, and tomorrow (Wednesday) a new "She's Got the Look" feature will be posted bright and early in the morning.

Whew, I feel so much better!

Lingerie at Modern Glam

 

A couple of days ago, I went on an online, lingerie shopping spree! Consequently..........this coming week will be all about lingerie here at Modern Glam.
About the best lingerie shops online, styles, that all important "fit factor", and more. The bra in the image is by Wacoal, and may be found at Bare Necessities.

WOOHOO, Modern Glam Now Has a Comments Feed!

Yesterday, I spent a good part of the day creating, and testing a comments feed. TypePad does not offer this, and when I attempted to use the code that TypePad provided, I couldn't get it to validate on Feed Validator.

After much trial and error,and some changes to the code, I was finally able to validate it, and burn it to Feedburner.

Anyway, I hope that this is welcome news for some of you.....sometimes, you really want to subscribe to the comments because the readers who contribute, often create nearly as much real content as the blog author. 

You'll see the rss symbol for the comments feed in the middle right column, at the top. I hope you subscribe and   enjoy!

This Week's Shopping Find

Well, you can probably deduce from this blog that I love fashion.....and, I like to check out what's new in the shops, usually once a week or so. This is the first post in my new series, "Shopping Finds", to be published every Friday or Saturday, depending on my mood and schedule.

My finds will run the gamut from ultra-expensive to a true bargain, from glamorous to very casual, from couture to ready-to-wear, and from handmade by indie artisans to commercially produced clothing and accessories.

The first find in the series is this very glam, very girly, pink,(or black)  open-toed platform pump, by French designer, Christian Louboutin.  To die for, at an extravagant price........not in my price range, but too yummy.:)
