Modern Glam Contest
As a reward to all of my wonderful commentators, beginning tomorrow, July 26, and ending at midnight on August 30, Modern Glam is holding a contest.
The prize is a hand-crafted fine silver signature pendant with a sterling silver chain (pictured above), created by moi (see my About Me page for more info on my jewelry), natch. The value of the prize is $72.00, USD retail.
I regretfully have to restrict the contest to US and Canadian citizens only; please accept my apologies if you do not qualify on those grounds.
How it Works:
1. For every comment you post on Modern Glam, you will receive one entry. Anonymous and spam comments don't count and will be deleted. So, if you make ten comments during this time, you will have accumulated ten entries. The more comments you make, the better to improve your chances of winning.
2. Link back to me from your website or blog. Post a comment in this post, with a link to the site.
3. Subscribe to Modern Glam's rss feed.
The winner will be chosen by blindly drawing a name out of a box filled with the entries. Oh, and please note that you will not have to pay shipping, as that is included.
Also, if you are a male reader, consider entering in order to win this as a gift for your fav lady.
xxo

Well DARN! I want to win this one and I'll bet you get so many entries my head will spin around like that chick in the exorcist.
I never win contests anyway as I'm lucky in love -- well that's what I tell my husband when I don't win the lottery....it works for him.
Anyway, that's a wonderful looking prize. Good luck (not) to all the contestants.

Margaret, I hope you will enter. To give you a head start, I'll count your comment today if you do. :)
Besides, it would be a great everyday type necklace for yourself or even your granddaughter!
Posted by: nicole | July 25, 2008 at 09:50 PM
Ok, I'll be back tomorrow and everyday thereafter....that necklace is too cute!
Posted by: waterrose | July 25, 2008 at 10:02 PM
Only US and North American? Well, no more comments from me for a month or more!
Just got back from a short holiday and catching up on my reading, sounds like you've had a fun time... I didn't like the male fashipn posts very much, I think I've come to a realization, I like women's fashion more. Why is it that skirts, high heel shoes etc seem more interesting than business suits or watches?

Curious if you work with Gold. My wife isn't fond of silver for some reason, but I like the design, Great Idea. Hope the contest does good for ya.

@ waterrose.......thanks, waterrose! I am so looking forward to this.:)
@ Carl.....um, Carl, I think you just find women more interesting, lol. :) Btw, I am making an exception for you, and two other guys I have come to know, so post away!
@ Beamer......thanks, Beamer!
I do also work with gold, and I could create this in 22k gold, BUT, with the price of gold being what it is, it would sell for around $600 retail, without a chain. :)
Btw, I have been going to your old blog, and looking for the damn widget.....I didn't know you moved, lol! Just updated my bookmarks. :)

Oh how pretty. I would love to win that, so here is my first attempt. I am going to comment that you really want to give this to me. Breath deeply and relax, then picture and imagine this necklace and how happy it would make the Wisdom gal, that's right, see it being shipped to her even now!
How's that? ;)
Posted by: Debbie Lane | July 27, 2008 at 11:35 AM
I like the necklace, but no need to enter me in the contest. I have a contest, too. It officially ends in two days, I am giving away a pin-up centerfold from esquire magazine of the famous Alberto Vargas.
I'd love to link to you, and will return to check on your fashionable posts. I love blue jeans, tokidoki and Lauren Moshi hoodies, and my favorite shoes of the moment are my guess high heels and blue DCs.
I don't post about fashion too often, but you have inspired me to do a post this week about one of my favorites.

Hello. Having a strange day in California with the earth rolling a bit. Luckily it was about 100 miles away and didn't feel a thing here.

Hoping Things are going better for you today. I had a tough time with a post that will come up tomorrow on the world as I see it. I got an email about a possible suicide and that is what generated the idea.
You just never now what lays right around the corner.
Have a good night.

The Olympics - I heard they are going to spend 150 million dollars just on the opening night ceremonies. Ought to be some shin dig.
So, are you into the olympics at all?

Dear Nicole,
What a fabulous opportunity! Thank you for posting it. I enjoy reading your posts about fashion. I utterly love shoes; 9 times out of 10 I wouldn't be able to wear the high heels you show. Sigh, my ankles won't let me be in vogue :-(. About 2.25" is my limit. Oh well, I can always look and drool.

You know I guess I lied when I said I would NEVER talk fashion on my blog :
http://bmw230.blogspot.com/
Not today, but tomorrow.
It's a type of fashion that I bet you have never heard of either. I know I haven't seen it's style since that fateful early Morning.
You liked that best dressed list for me. huh?
T-shirts, Levis, shorts and hiking boots. I don't think it's going to happen this life time.

So, does posting at your alter ego count for posting here?
Probably not.
So I guess what I will do is post here as well as over there if I feel the need to respond to, oh, I don't know, Maybe Just how OBTUSE men are because someone had a bad day with one guy, all guys are OBTUSE and dense and stuff. But I shant, because I am above such behavior.
Sheesh.

Beamer, don't take it personally, It was just me going off because of one person. Although you must admit, men are hardwired to communicate differently than women do. :)
Posted by: nicole | August 06, 2008 at 08:31 AM
Nah, I didn't take it personally. Uhm, just don't take my post personal either, ok?

I am so looking forward to summer going bye bye. This heat has been just crazy lately.
Did you happen top catch the post on Fashion I had?

Posted by: Beamer | August 06, 2008 at 07:31 PM
Glam, what ever I seem to be saying, understand I got your back.
I have written and posted so much and so many times about the internet and perception and this far from perfect medium we have to try and communicate with.
My comment about being obtuse was probably directed more at my wife than you, trust me. My wife LOVES to give me a hard time. She doesn't use the exact word Obtuse, but every word in the English language that means just that. I think It primarily comes from some strange insecurity, but what do I know.
I feel your pain. You comment on some male dufus (who may or may not be an actual dufus) and your reeling from him being a dufus and I grab the ball and run with it and put words in (Gasp) Capitol letters and there ya go.
It's all part of the fun of the Internet. No I didn't take your remarks personally and believe it or not, it was apparently a failed attempt at being humorous. Between that and being a Sagittarius and excelling at opening my mouth and at times deeply inserting my foot, I sometimes tread on very thin ice and sometimes fall in.
I hope things are going better for you today.

Beamer, I am sorry! I have been so distracted with personal stuff, I wasn't paying much attention here, other than to auto-publish all comments.
Anyway, I did not see your fashion post......I did look for it! Got a link?
Beamer, your wife is a lucky woman.....you are a good guy! :)

Sorry to hear your having problems. Sounds like if it wasn't for bad luck, you wouldn't have any luck at all.
Now this is the link to the fashion statement, but it isn't anywhere near as glam as what you portray:
http://bmw230.blogspot.com/2008/08/yeah-i-must-be-crazy.html
But it's probably as close as I get to posting about fashion.

I never did find out what you thought about the Olympics. I have been watching them a lot.
I think Mr. Phelps is pretty amazing. Not only getting gold medals, but breaking world records in the process all at the age of 23. He's got quite a future ahead oh him.

It's funny. Ever since I mentioned not writing about fashion, it seems to be cropping up in my posts more often these days. I guess I lied.
http://bmw230.blogspot.com/2008/08/my-how-time-flies.html
Somehow though, I don't think it's quite the same fashion as you discuss.
She was such a beauty from afar. Why did she have to speak and ruin it?

Beamer, if nothing else, you should get a prize for exceptional effort! ;)
I don't watch the Olympics. Sorry, but sports kind of make me fall asleep.
I do appreciate every single one of your comments because I think you are a great guy. :)

Listen You, Flattery will get you everywhere with me. (Just don't tell my wife. I have an image to uphold)
I did notice a little less competition than I thought would be posting here. I was beginning to think this was the wrong spot.

So, the Olympics don't do it for you.
That's a shame.
The only thing My wife is interested in is the female Gymnastics.
For some reason, I thought maybe the Equestrian events would have had some interest on you.
You take care.

Your driving poor glam crazy with all your comments, now your starting to comment to yourself. What kind of sick bastard are you any way?
Just come up with something quick and witty to say and be done with it already.
Ok, so maybe it's too late for the quick part. Be witty then. Come on you can do it.

Btw, Typepad only allows 50 comments per page, and I can not figure out how to override it yet. That said, I have to close this post to further comments as this is the 50th. :{
So, Beamer, I guess you will need to comment on another post. lol. :)
