Protesting the Passage of Prop 8 - a despicable violation of the civil rights of a minority
Barack Obama on Prop 8:
“ When you start playing around with constitutions just to prohibit somebody who cares about another person, it just seems to me that that's not what America is about. ”
From the Obama interview with Sway/MTV on Nov 1, 2008.

Marriage was never a holy sacrament until the 11th century. Mary and Joseph was never married either. Marriage is just a tradition. It's man-made and not from God. Civil rights is never dictated by a majority but is afforded to all even those in the minority. And to think that Palin has not even dipped her hands into this. The Blacks who supported this proposition should look back at where they came from and what they fought for. Have they forgotten that inter-racial marriage was banned before? They sure have very short memories.

Joel, I have read that it was older people who actually voted for it.
But regardless, I believe that the way it was worded was confusing, and people may have unintentionally voted the reverse of what they intended.
In any case, I believe that eventually, within the next 10 years, every state will allow marriage between same-sex couples simply because it is unconstitutional not to, and people will push until it gets done, as it should be. :)

Nicole,
At last we might agree on something!
This whole gay marriage brouhaha is another distraction. Let people decide who they want to be married to, and let the state worry about defense, roads and bridges, and foreign relations.

We demand equality too!
By "we" I mean we onanists, self-lovers, egosexuals. Equality for all egosexuals! stop the hatred! We are not "jerks"! We are people who demand respect!
The Contitution promises equality! It does not prohibit same-sex marriages. Neither does it same person marriages!

@ chodirin..........thanks for taking the time to comment. :)
@ Dan.....well, finally, lol!! It's nice to agree. ;)
@ Dr. Lumplevin.......well, I'd be lying if I said I truly understood exactly what your point is, but I do agree that the constitution does not prohibit any type of marriage, nor does it speak to marriage specifically at all. ;)
